Catching up...

A beautiful Memorial Day weekend here! The weather was near-perfect, and I had a lil time free to enjoy... mostly just hung around town, out and about, nuthin' noteworthy, went out for a few drinkies, jes enjoyable... A friend had tickets to the NCAA lacrosse championship @ Gillette Stadium, went to that; it was fun! Sadly, neither UMass- nor any New England team- was in the final (or even the Final Four) but still it was an enoyable game and day; big crowd, too, close to 50,000 for a lax game!

Obviously it was Memorial Day weekend, a time to remember those who have given their lives in our nation's defense. Others have put it far more eloquently than I; suffice to say, freedom isn't free, and we as a nation are very fortunate to have brave men and women who are willing to give their lives for the freedoms we enjoy.

Bloggings on a damp Sunday evening...

BIG win for the Celtics this afternoon, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 97-92; Paul Pierce was huge, with 41 points and solid on the defensive end... now it's on to the Eastern Conference finals vs. the Pistons; I may hafta have a fun lil wager with my friend Deetroit Dee!

This article strikes me as apropos (while I sip on a nice Ipswich Ale) Nuthin' wrong- or less feminine!- with a gal who prefers the fine blending of water, malted barley, hops, and yeast to the fermented fruit of the vine, or a cutesy- or not so cutesy- cocktail... not that I have an aversion to those, either...

I had a very nice dinner with a "good friend" the other night at Casa Romero; I'd never been there before! The entrance is actually located in an alleyway off of Gloucester Street, but step down inside and it's an inviting place, with warm, soft but not dark lighting and decor, helpful but not hovering service... and very good Mexican cuisine (which I luv but have far too infrequently- I had the enchilidas poblanas.) It's slightly pricey... but I wasn't paying! It was a cool, rainy night, I went with a red sweater and black slacks and flats...I looked alright but dang, I still could stand to lose a lil more weight, ack!!! I've been working out and eating right and I have lost some weight but it just doesn't wanna seem to come off as quickly as it often has in the past; but it could be worse... Anyway, it was a very nice evening...

This is the latest song that I haven't been able to get out my head (Mercy, by Duffy.) I luv it's sorta hypnotically-retro sound and beat; someone made the comparison to a modern-day Dusty Springfield... I haven't heard the entire disc yet but what I've heard I like, and will be downloading...

I'd be lying if I said I never care if, or how many, people read my blog, view my website, etc... I admit; occasionally I do compare my "hits" vs. those posted on others' blogs and sites. I don't think I'm especially hard on the eyes (admittedly I hafta endeavor to do a much- heck, any- better job on adding to my pics) but just as much, I believe I offer a fairly broad range of items and such on my site, and wide-ranging (and fairly articulate!) thoughts and commentary on a host of issues, from the serious to the silly to the sublime, here. But in the final analysis two things stand out; one, I'm not, nor do I especially seek to be, a spokeswoman for the T "community." My thoughts and views are my own, and I realize that, on many issues, they depart from- perceived- T, and/or LGBT "orthodoxy", certainly politically, to a lesser extent culturally, perhaps even frivolously. Certainly they do from many/most self-appointed/self-anointed "leaders." And that's OK. Two; I'm not, nor have I ever really been, a big self-promoter, shameless or otherwise! It's not so much shyness or lacking in/for confidence as it is, I dunno, modesty maybe? That observation may lead to a longer one at some point... but not now! For now, I simply wish to thank any and all who peruse this blog (and my website;) your interest is greatly appreciated, it makes me feel both blessed and humbled.
