Enjoying a Cadillac Mountain Stout while basking in the glow of a hard-fought Patriots win this afternoon...

I made some absolutely dee-lish meatballs the other night! I used ground beef, pork, and veal, unseasoned bread crumbs, one egg, small diced onion, pressed garlic, salt and pepper to season along with some oregano, basil, fennel powder, and fresh-ground pecorino romano. Drizzled 'em with a lil extra EVOO, popped 'em into bake for a lil bit... Great served with pasta or in a sandwich, simmered for a lil bit in some homemade sauce- yum! (I make 'em smaller, sub-roll sized.)

A thoroughly-mixed week ATS this week; Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ga. Tech were college winners while Penn State, Michigan State, and Northwestern cost me $$$... In the NFL the Jets and TB came up winners, Buffalo was a push, Baltimore cost me $$$, still waiting on the final of the SF-Dallas game, and I have the Giants tomorrow night... I spoke- briefly- with one of my oncologists last Wednesday regarding resuming HRT. I'll speak with her more fully in about a week and a half but from our conversation she seems to see no problems with my resuming HRT so hopefully by the beginning of October at the latest Ill be resuming- yay!

Failure to Launch Despite a stellar record of spending cuts, job creation, and balanced budgets—and a world-class adventure résumé that includes an Everest summit—former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson can't get anyone to take his campaign for president seriously. Is it him or us? It's a shame the GOP is shutting this guy out while allowing others debate access and status; Johnson has an outstanding record.

The unofficial end of summer, enjoying a Tuckerman Pale Ale...

A nice, relaxing weekend here! The weather overall was pretty nice, I pretty much just kicked back and took it easy; went to a cookout Friday night, went out for a lil while just strolling around taking in the neighborhood and all Saturday and Sunday evenings... Sliced up some deelish local tomatoes with mozzarella and basil drizzled with a lil balsamic and olive oil and some scala bread for dindin tonite- yum!... The students are back, with all of their attendant moving in, crowding the Green Line, noise, and more, but overall I like having 'em around... Purchased a gray pencil skirt, it's pretty... Picked up a new pair of running shoes as well- Saucony ProGrid Triumph 8... Watched a lil football Saturday, and got off to a winning start AT$- Northwestern as a 'dog won outright (sorry, BC fans! :) Clemson covered and I would have won my Michigan wager had they completed the game (ended up being a push due to the early end.) Only Indiana failed to cover for me this week... NFL kicks off this week!

I've been feeling good physically. I got a good report back on some blood work I had done; by that measure my chemo is having positive results. I'll have it checked again, as well as have another CT scan done, later this month... I also met with my primary care doc to see about resuming HRT. He has a few concerns which he needs to confer with my oncologists about but, barring any problems with HRT and either chemo or the cancer itself right now it seems as if I will get an OK to resume- yay! I should know in another week or so...
